Cardio Groove-Combo | Mimi Rosenblatt 

Monday / Wednesday | 9:00 - 10:20 am | ON-GOING

Get your groove on with this fun, playful high-energy class. Easy to follow dance steps, retro-aerobics and kickboxing moves are combined with intervals of resistance training to create a pumping, thumping, innovative work-out. Emphasis is on cardio-vascular endurance, co-ordination, muscular strength, balance and flexibility.  This class has it all!

Aikido | Jocelyn McGrath

Monday 6:30 - 7:30 pm  | Teen/Adult 13+  | ON-GOING

Step onto the mat and experience the Art of Peace for yourself.  In Aikido, we learn how to reframe conflict by becoming skillful in welcoming, guiding and transforming an attacker’s energy.  With this practice, we develop confidence to move in the world and maintain peaceful intent. 

This foundational Aikido class is designed for the beginning student, but all levels are welcome to join in practice.  Learn ki exercises to strengthen your connection to your body’s vital energy, as well as basic forms and techniques, including rolls, front falls, partnering and freestyle.  With an emphasis on safety, relaxation, and fun, this class is a great place to begin your training.

Tuesday 8:30 - 9:30 am & Wednesday | 6:30 - 7:30 pm | ON-GOING 

Revitalize or develop your love of movement in this dance class for adults! No experience needed. This class draws from various forms of dance to feed your soul, strengthen your muscles, increase flexibility and build cardio health. Set to great music from many genres, you can dance yourself to feeling strong, aligned and relaxed. After a generous warm-up, we will continue to cultivate the joy of moving with simple movement patterns and phrase work that will enhance coordination, balance, rhythm and connect your mind, to your body. 

 

 

Body & soul Ballet

Tuesday | 9:35 - 10:50 am 18 +  |  ON-GOING 

Ballet has an incredible physiotherapeutic approach that makes moving the body fun! This adult Ballet class is accessible for the novice through advanced dancer. To the soundtrack of lush music, dancers follow a series of moves at the barre and across the floor. Throughout the class alternatives to ballet technique are provided to suit individual needs, and support physicality through a gentle approach to balletic technique that strengthens body and mind. Sarah’s class enhances the consideration that gentle steps such as passé, can help in the confidence to use stairs, or how pliés help with getting in and out of a car. The ability to move, aids in individual independence and enhances physical freedom. Growing older we may become less confident in our balance, and our bodies can develop stiffness. This class gives adults an enjoyable way to move that is imperative to maintaining a healthy body.

TAP | Stefanie Weber

Tuesday 5:30 - 6:30 pm 11+ | ON-GOING

Drawing from traditions in Jazz Tap, we will explore rudiments, musicality, and improvisation while surfacing a contemporary expression that is original and spirited.

Contemporary-JAZZ Dance | Stefanie Weber 

Tuesday 6:30 - 7:45 pm 13+  | ON-GOING

Develop and express movement that integrates both inner and outer selves. Use techniques stemming from jazz dance stylists, somatic pioneers, and various ethnic traditions to delve deeper into the physical poetry of the moving body. Detail will be placed on alignment, flow, nuanced execution, intimate connections in space, and overall health and well being. This class is informed greatly by musical compositions that suggest a connection to movement and space. 

 

Body & Soul modern-jazz   | Andrea / Laura Lin

Thursday 8:30 - 9:30 am  | ON-GOING 

Revitalize or develop your love of movement in this dance class for adults! No experience needed. A great mix of classic Modern Dance with Contemporary Jazz - moving to various music selections that are sure to get your morning started on both feet! Move from the inside-out, strengthen your muscles, increase flexibility and build cardio health. Align your body with your mind for a revitalizing dance work-out. After a generous warm-up, we will dance across the floor - finishing up with a funky and restorative combination.

Let’s dance!  This fun, high energy class will jump-start your week-end as you move your entire body through a variety of easy to follow dance steps/routines. Emphasis is on cardio-vascular endurance, co-ordination, balance and flexibility.  Groove to a hot musical mix of current hits, world-beat, disco, soul, funk and rock.  Release your inner dancer in a safe, fun, supportive environment.

Intermediate / Advanced 18 +

This class combines the foundation of classic-Modern dance technique, including the Horton, Cunningham, Limón Techniques, and Ballet centering, with the current trends of Contemporary movement, including floor work. We will be on our hands and our feet, dancing to heart pumping music while building strength and furthering our commitment and love for dance. Come work hard and have fun!

Friday |  3:45 - 4:45 pm  | 11+ | Intermediate 

We are having a dance party and you are invited! This class will move your body and energize your soul. We will move our whole bodies and enjoy ourselves while we do it.  Combining dance moves and music from around the world. Get ready to sweat and dance it out. Navigate across the floor with latin inspired dance moves, from Afro-Caribbean to Contemporary Hip-Hop. Enhance energy - build cool skills, move to great music, and most importantly WE HAVE FUN!

A Tap Dance workshop for the whole family. All ages and levels of experience are welcome. Try using your feet like drums and finding new ways of expressing rhythm through your whole body...together! Tap shoes can be provided. 

(Please reserve shoes when registering and indicate general shoe size. Exact sizing is not always available. $1 rental fee per pair paid directly to instructor.)
