This athletic-adventure camp integrates the martial-arts dance components from Capoeira, conditioning elements of Parkour, and the moving arts foundations from Contemporary Dance. Run, jump, skip, leap, roll, spin, backwards, forwards, up, down, cartwheel, Hip-Hop, Capoeira and go! This high-energy and creative week long camp, combines healthy alignment and body awareness with the instinctive movements of young boys and girls. Develop strength, agility and spatial awareness. Navigate across obstacle courses inside and outside, through rolling, jumping, spinning, vaulting, slides and floor/ground maneuvers. Everyone will be making their own cajon drum, painting it, learning how to play it and taking it home! ALL levels of physical ability will enjoy – build cool skills, listen to great music, and most importantly WE HAVE FUN! 

Daily Schedule:

9:00 – 10:00 am Outdoor – stop, drop and roll

10:00 – 10:30 am Warm-up Fit-Games & Conditioning & Skill Building 

10:30 – 10:45 am Snack

10:45 – 11:30 am Drums / Masks (Make Your Own Cajon Drum to take home)

11:30 – 12:00 pm Hip-Hop and Capoeira, break-dance skills 

12:00 – 1:00 pm Lunch/Play/Obstacle Course

1:00 – 1:30 pm Choose your own adventure

-       Modern-Jazz Dance time w/ Sarah Daunt (Modern-Jazz)

-       Obstacle Course & Creative Conditioning w/ Ellen Gorman

1:30 – 3:00 pm Capoeira Partnering & Creating "The Music Box" -

1) WHAT TO WEAR: 

Comfortable clothing you can move in! 

- shorts, t-shirts, tanks, leggings, sports pants, sweat pants. Remember that we do slide on the floor a lot so no short - shorts and NO Jeans please

- Sneakers for outdoor obstacle and play

- tie back your hair if it is long and gets in your face

2) WHAT TO BRING: 

*Water Bottle, Lunch, Snacks (peanut free), Sunscreen

- extra set of clothes for getting messy and dirty

3) WHAT TO KNOW:

Drop-off between 8:50 - 9:00 am, Pick-up between 3:00 - 3:10pm 

Tuition MUST be PAID IN FULL by the first class.
