Tandem is the resident dance company at Moving Arts Exchange. Tandem was founded by Andrea Blacklow & Ellen Gorman in 2017, with the shared vision to create original work for and with regional dance artists.

The Moving Company was founded by Dawn Lane in 1997 at Community Access to the Arts (CATA).  The company produces dance work with, for and about dancers with disabilities and invites area dancers and ambassadors of dance to be part of the work.  The Company has performed at Jacob’s Pillow, Shakespeare & Company, The Kennedy Center and the Massachusetts Statehouse.  CATA nurtures and celebrates the creativity of people with disabilities through shared experiences in the visual and performing arts.      CATAarts.org

Stefanie is an action-based artist who specializes in dance, movement and performance. She has worked with many organizations such as Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival, Barrington Stage Company, Berkshire Opera Company, Simon’s Rock College of Bard, Williams College, Berkshire Community College, BaRT Charter School, Terpsichore Dance Studio, Lenox Community Center, Berkshire Dance Theatre, Hudson’s Operation Unite, Hudson Opera House, East Harlem Union Settlement Association,  Art in Odd Places, Somerville’s ArtBeat, and Cambridge River Festival; as an artist, educator, performer, or choreographer.  Presently she is on faculty with Community Access to the Arts and Canyon Ranch.

Sarah Daunt | Swoosh

Choreographer/Dancer: Sarah Daunt

Sarah's current work explores the concepts of experiential performance live and on video. Her interest involves global digital artistic collaborations and the process of digital archives of dance. This newly created work is in the early stages of creative development. The solo Swoosh is Daunt's personal reflection on family, community, isolation, and acceptance.

Sarah Daunt has recently joined the MAX team, as the Moving Arts Early Childhood Program Director, teaching Dance with Me, Creative Movement, Ballet Arts and Body & Soul Ballet. Sarah Daunt began teaching dance in 2006. She maintains individual student needs and supports injury prevention through proper instruction and preparation. Her extensive teaching in toddler through adult dance education supports her knowledge of the dancer’s development at all ages. In her twelve years of teaching Sarah has coordinated the establishment of several youth dance programs and continues to deepen her knowledge of early childhood education. Sarah has been the youth dance program coordinator of but not limited to, Carnegie Art Center and Lisa Taylor Academy of Dance, Buffalo, NY, and Bluffton School of Dance, Bluffton, SC. Sarah finds great joy in her commitment to serving the community and is honored to be a part of MAX.

Olivia is a local dance artist who teaches Dance and Yoga throughout the Berkshires; from CATA classes in Schools to the Cantarella Competitions Teams, and Yoga studio bliss. Olivia's work points out small nuances, showcasing intricacy and the human with in the dancer. “Copycat” is an excerpt from a larger show, “Shades,” that will be performed in June of 2019.
